My CHRISTMAS COOKIE Story

Baking Vanillekipferln, Ischler, Linzer Augen reminds me of my childhood.

My mother started a few weeks before Christmas with the traditional

Christmas Cookies and when the house was filled with the smell of sugar

spices , chocolate  i knew Christmas is not far.

In my opinion, traditions are important and that for I share with you my recipes

Some cookies get better with age thats the reason why you should, if possible,

wait a few days before eating.

 

There is no Christmas without Vanillekipferln:

180 g butter

70   g pealed, crushed almonds

50   g sugar

2         egg yolk

210  g flower

powder-sugar

vanilla sugar

 

mix quickly all ingredient together

until you obtained a shortcrust.

place the dough for one hour in the fridge

Roll it out  thick as a thumb, cut into small pieces and form crescents.

place on a brown paper and bake in the oven light brown with moderate heat.

still hot, roll in sugar mixed with vanilla sugar

 

Linzer Sterne

100 g powder sugar

200 g butter

300 g flower

1 egg

1 TS vanilla sugar

lemon peel

red current jam

mix quickly all ingredient together

until you obtained a shortcrust.

place the dough for 30min in the fridge

Roll it out , cut out stars

bake golden

after baking spread one star with jam and place another star on top of it

 

Ischler

140g butter

70g flower

70g sugar

70g ground hazelnuts

70g bread crumb

30g grated chocolate

pinch of salt

 

20g chocolat couverture

chopped pistachio

 

mix quickly all ingredient together

until you obtained a shortcrust.

place the dough for 30 min in the fridge

Roll it out ,cut one round, spread with jam and place another round on top of it

now cover the cookies with the couverture and place some pistachio on top
